Legal Disclaimers for Donations

Before You Go is a food rescue charity centered around all the tourists who visit the Glen Arbor Michigan area. Before You Go will provide collection points around the lake where people who are leaving their vacations can donate unopened non-perishable food items. Please note that the explanations and information provided on this page are for general understanding and informational purposes only. Before You Go does not provide legal advice or recommendations regarding specific terms and conditions for donations. We recommend that you seek legal advice to ensure compliance with local regulations and to understand the legal implications of your donations.

Donation Guidelines - the Basics

Having said that, donation guidelines are a set of rules and recommendations defined by Before You Go to govern the donations of non-perishable food items. These guidelines are meant to establish a clear understanding of the legal responsibilities and expectations between the donors and Before You Go. The donation guidelines should be defined according to the specific needs and nature of food charity operations. These guidelines provide Before You Go the ability to ensure the safety and quality of donated food items.

What to Include in the Donation Guidelines

Generally speaking, donation guidelines often address these types of issues: what types of non-perishable food items are accepted for donation; the condition and packaging requirements for donated food items; the process for donation drop-off or collection; the rights of Before You Go to refuse inappropriate donations; and much more. For more information, refer to our donation guidelines document.
